virājate paraṃ brahma yatra śaṃbhurmaheśvaraḥ | tridevajanakasvāmī sarveṣāṃ triguṇātparaḥ
There shines the Supreme Brahman—Śambhu, the Great Lord—sovereign Father of the three gods, and for all beings transcending the three guṇas.
Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva Purana teachings to the sages, Uma-samhita philosophical context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
It declares Śiva (Śambhu/Maheśvara) as Para-brahman—supreme reality and the ultimate refuge—who is not conditioned by prakṛti’s three guṇas, making Him the giver of liberation (mokṣa) rather than merely worldly boons.
Though Śiva is described as beyond the guṇas (nirguṇa), devotees approach Him through saguna forms such as the Śiva-liṅga; the liṅga becomes the accessible symbol through which the transcendent Para-brahman is adored and realized.
Meditate on Śiva as triguṇātīta (beyond sattva-rajas-tamas) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering worship to the liṅga with a mind intent on liberation rather than mere material aims.
