It maps the sacred space by naming the boundary mountains in the four directions, presenting the kṣetra as an ordered, consecrated realm fit for Shiva-oriented worship and contemplation.
By defining the holy landscape, the text frames the setting where Saguna Shiva is worshipped in tangible form—often as the Linga—so devotees approach the deity through a sanctified geography that supports devotion (bhakti).
A practical takeaway is directional remembrance (dik-smaraṇa) of the sacred quarters before worship—then perform Shiva-puja with Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), applying Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and, if available, wearing Rudrākṣa.
