Description of the Supreme State / One’s True Attainment
यो निजाद्दक्षिणात्पार्श्वाद्ब्रह्माणं लोककारणम् । वामादप्यसृजद्विष्णुं लोकरक्षार्थमीश्वरः
yo nijāddakṣiṇātpārśvādbrahmāṇaṃ lokakāraṇam | vāmādapyasṛjadviṣṇuṃ lokarakṣārthamīśvaraḥ
From His own right side, the Lord brought forth Brahmā, the instrumental cause for the world’s manifestation; and from His left side He also created Viṣṇu, for the protection of the worlds.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
Significance: Reinforces Śiva as the ultimate source even of Brahmā and Viṣṇu; at Śiva-kṣetras the devotee approaches the root-cause (Pati) rather than derivative cosmic offices.
Role: creative
Cosmic Event: cosmogonic emanation (secondary creation narrative motif)
It presents Śiva as Īśvara (Pati), the supreme source from whom the cosmic functions arise—creation through Brahmā and protection through Viṣṇu—supporting a Shaiva Siddhanta view that all powers operate by the Lord’s will.
By identifying Īśvara as the origin of the creator and protector deities, it reinforces Saguna Śiva worship—especially Linga worship—as devotion to the supreme Lord in whom all divine functions are grounded.
A practical takeaway is to meditate on Śiva as the inner ruler (Īśvara) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering worship with bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as signs of surrender to the Lord who governs creation and protection.
