भैरवावतारलीलावर्णनम् (Bhairava-avatāra-līlā-varṇanam) — “Narration of the Divine Play of Bhairava’s Descent”
यथा तमो न तिष्ठेत सन्निधावंशुमालिनः । तथैव तव यो भक्तः पापन्तस्य व्रजेत्क्षयम्
yathā tamo na tiṣṭheta sannidhāvaṃśumālinaḥ | tathaiva tava yo bhaktaḥ pāpantasya vrajetkṣayam
Just as darkness cannot remain in the presence of the Sun, so too, for the one who is Your devotee, O Śiva, sin is destroyed and comes to an end.

It teaches that sincere Shiva-bhakti has a purifying power: when consciousness abides near Śiva (Pati), karmic impurity and sin cannot persist, just as darkness vanishes before sunlight.
Linga-worship is a concrete way to live “in the presence” of Śiva; steady devotion, darśana, and remembrance of Saguna Śiva are presented as the means by which pāpa is dissolved and the devotee is oriented toward liberation.
