Then the Lord (Īśāna), taking me together with my family and accompanied by the relatives and kinsmen, mounted His bull and went to the Goddess’s own home.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana account to the sages)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
It highlights Saguna Shiva’s compassionate, relational aspect: the Lord sanctifies worldly ties by moving with devotees and kin, showing that dharmic household life can be a valid path when centered on Shiva and Shakti.
The verse depicts Shiva in a personal, worshipable form (Īśāna) with His vahana (the bull), reinforcing Saguna upasana—devotion to Shiva with form—while implying that such devotion ultimately leads the devotee toward the supreme reality Shiva signifies (as Linga).
A practical takeaway is to cultivate bhakti through daily Shiva-smarana and simple worship (e.g., chanting the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), honoring Shiva as the sanctifier of home and family life.
