Viśvānara-Gṛhapati Upākhyāna — Śivasya Agni-gṛhe Avatāraḥ
The Account of Viśvānara Gṛhapati and Śiva’s Descent into the House of Fire
प्रातरुत्थाय सुस्नातो लिंगमभ्यर्च्य शाम्भवम् । वर्षं जपन्निदं स्तोत्रमपुत्रः पुत्रवान्भवेत्
prātarutthāya susnāto liṃgamabhyarcya śāmbhavam | varṣaṃ japannidaṃ stotramaputraḥ putravānbhavet
Rising early in the morning, having bathed well, and worshipping the Śāmbhava Liṅga, if a man without a son repeats this hymn for a full year, he becomes blessed with a son.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It teaches that disciplined daily purity (morning rising and bathing), devotion (Liṅga-arcana), and sustained mantra-like recitation (stotra-japa) invite Śiva’s grace, harmonizing dharma and desired life-supporting fruits while keeping worship centered on the Pati (Lord) as the giver of blessings.
The verse explicitly places worship on the Śāmbhava Liṅga, a saguna focus through which the devotee approaches Śiva; in Shaiva understanding, the Liṅga is a sacred support for devotion and concentration, through which grace flows to transform karma and grant welfare.
A daily routine: rise at dawn, bathe, perform Liṅga worship (archana), and recite this stotra as japa consistently for one year, maintaining steady bhakti and observance.
