संहाररूप-प्रादुर्भावः

Manifestation of Śiva’s Saṃhāra-Form

अत्रान्तरे महाघोरं प्रत्यक्षभयकारणम् । गगनव्यापि दुर्धर्षं शैवतेजस्समुद्भवम्

atrāntare mahāghoraṃ pratyakṣabhayakāraṇam | gaganavyāpi durdharṣaṃ śaivatejassamudbhavam

Just then there appeared a most terrifying presence—an immediate cause of fear—pervading the sky, irresistible to oppose, born of the radiant Śaiva power of Śiva.

It depicts Śiva’s tejas as a reality that overwhelms limited egoic perception—what appears as “fearsome” to the bound soul (paśu) is the purifying, sovereign power of Pati that dissolves pasha (bondage) and forces inner surrender.

The sky-filling, unassailable radiance points to Saguna Śiva manifesting for devotees and beings; in Linga-worship, this same tejas is approached safely through symbol and ritual focus, allowing the mind to receive the Infinite without being scattered by awe and fear.

Meditate on Śiva’s tejas while repeating the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”); support it with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and steady breath to transform fear into devotion (bhakti) and inner composure.
