वीरभद्र-भैरव-आह्वानम् — Invocation of Vīrabhadra/Bhairava for Cosmic Reabsorption
अवेहि परमं भावमिदम्भूतं गणेश्वर । मामकं सकलं विश्वं सदेवासुरमानुषम्
avehi paramaṃ bhāvamidambhūtaṃ gaṇeśvara | māmakaṃ sakalaṃ viśvaṃ sadevāsuramānuṣam
Know, O Gaṇeśvara, this highest truth as it truly is: the entire universe is Mine—together with the gods, the asuras, and humankind.
Lord Shiva (instructing Ganesha)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Significance: Affirms īśvaratva and sarvādhāratva of Śiva; contemplation of ‘sarvaṃ śivamayaṃ’ supports detachment and devotion.
The verse affirms Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord—whose sovereignty pervades all beings (devas, asuras, humans). In Shaiva Siddhanta, this supports devotion and surrender by recognizing all reality as under Shiva’s governance.
By declaring the universe as ‘Mine,’ Shiva indicates His immanent lordship (Saguna aspect) that devotees approach through Linga worship—seeing the Linga as the accessible sign of the all-pervading Lord who contains and rules the cosmos.
A practical takeaway is daily japa of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with meditation on Shiva as the inner ruler of all worlds; optionally accompanied by Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as Shaiva marks of surrender.
