दुन्दुभिनिर्ह्रादनिर्णयः / Dundubhinirhrāda’s Stratagem: Targeting the Brāhmaṇas
यतः क्रतुभुजो देवाः क्रतवो वेदसंभवाः । ते वेदा ब्राह्मणाधारास्ततो देवबलं द्विजाः
yataḥ kratubhujo devāḥ kratavo vedasaṃbhavāḥ | te vedā brāhmaṇādhārāstato devabalaṃ dvijāḥ
For the gods are sustained by the offerings of sacrifice, and sacrifices arise from the Vedas. The Vedas, in turn, rest upon the Brāhmaṇas; therefore, O twice-born ones, the very strength of the gods depends upon the Brāhmaṇas.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya, within the Yuddhakhaṇḍa discourse)

It teaches the sacred chain of dharma: devas are nourished by yajña, yajña is guided by Veda, and Veda is preserved and applied by disciplined Brāhmaṇas—so spiritual order is maintained through right knowledge and right ritual.
Linga-worship in the Purāṇa is often performed with Vedic mantras and proper rites; this verse underscores that such worship gains potency when aligned with Vedic injunctions and transmitted tradition, supporting Saguna Śiva-upāsanā as dharmic and efficacious.
Perform Śiva-pūjā and yajña-like offerings with Vedic purity and mantra—especially japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—while honoring learned teachers who preserve śruti and correct practice.
