दुन्दुभिनिर्ह्रादनिर्णयः / Dundubhinirhrāda’s Stratagem: Targeting the Brāhmaṇas
अथ सर्वं गतश्शम्भुर्ज्ञात्वा तस्याशयं हरः । दैत्यस्य दुष्टरूपस्य वधाय विदधे धियम्
atha sarvaṃ gataśśambhurjñātvā tasyāśayaṃ haraḥ | daityasya duṣṭarūpasya vadhāya vidadhe dhiyam
Then Śambhu, who knows all that has occurred, understood the demon’s inner intent; and Hara, to end that wicked-formed daitya, resolved upon the means for his destruction.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
It highlights Śiva as Pati (the Lord) who perceives the hidden āśaya (inner motive) behind outward actions and, out of grace, removes adharma—symbolically teaching that the Divine uproots inner corruption, not merely external faults.
Hara’s decisive protection of cosmic order reflects Saguna Shiva—worshiped in the Liṅga as the accessible form of the Supreme who responds to devotees, restrains demonic tendencies, and restores dharma.
Cultivate inner purity alongside outer worship: perform Liṅga-abhiṣeka while repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and meditate that Hara removes the ‘demonic’ āśaya within—anger, pride, and deceit.
