अध्याय ५५ — बाणस्य पुनर्युद्धप्रवृत्तिः
Bāṇa’s Renewed Engagement in Battle
चिक्षेप विविधान्बाणान्बाणाय कुपितो हरिः । कर्णान्तं तद्विकृष्याथ तीक्ष्णानाशीविषोपमान्
cikṣepa vividhānbāṇānbāṇāya kupito hariḥ | karṇāntaṃ tadvikṛṣyātha tīkṣṇānāśīviṣopamān
Enraged, Hari (Viṣṇu) hurled many kinds of arrows at Bāṇa. Then, drawing his bow back to his ear, he shot sharp shafts—like poisonous serpents in their deadly force.

It portrays the height of martial power and anger even in Hari, while implying (in the Yuddha-khaṇḍa context) that all such force remains within the higher governance of Pati (Śiva); spiritual maturity is to rise from reactive rage to surrender and dharma.
The battle-setting underscores that divine energies (even Viṣṇu’s) operate under the Supreme Lord; worship of the Liṅga (Saguna Śiva as the accessible form) trains the devotee to seek refuge in Śiva as the stabilizing center beyond conflict.
As an antidote to krodha (anger), repeat the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with steady breath; applying Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and wearing Rudrākṣa can be taken as reminders of restraint, purity, and returning the mind to Śiva.
