Tripuramohana — “The Delusion/Enchanting of Tripura”
बुद्धिमोहं तथाभूतं विष्णो र्मायाविनिर्मितम् । तेषां दत्त्वा क्षणादेव कृतार्थोऽभूत्स नारदः
buddhimohaṃ tathābhūtaṃ viṣṇo rmāyāvinirmitam | teṣāṃ dattvā kṣaṇādeva kṛtārtho'bhūtsa nāradaḥ
That very delusion of understanding—fashioned by Viṣṇu’s māyā—Nārada bestowed upon them; and in an instant, Nārada became fulfilled in his purpose.

It highlights how māyā can cloud buddhi (discernment), making beings act against dharma; yet the devotee-sage (Nārada) uses even such delusion as a catalyst within the divine play, ultimately steering events toward the restoration of right order aligned with Śiva’s higher purpose.
By showing that intellect can be overpowered by māyā, the verse implicitly supports Saguna worship—such as Linga-pūjā—as a stabilizing, grace-centered practice that purifies perception and reorients the mind toward Śiva, beyond shifting mental constructs.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady dhyāna to counter buddhi-moha; pairing it with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa dhāraṇa is traditionally recommended in Śaiva practice to strengthen viveka and devotion.
