Tripuramohana — “The Delusion/Enchanting of Tripura”
या लक्ष्मीस्तपसा तेषां लब्धा देवेश्वरादरात् । बहिर्गता परित्यज्य नियोगाद्ब्रह्मणः प्रभोः
yā lakṣmīstapasā teṣāṃ labdhā deveśvarādarāt | bahirgatā parityajya niyogādbrahmaṇaḥ prabhoḥ
That prosperity (Lakṣmī) which they had gained through austerity—by the gracious favor of the Lord of the gods—went away from them, abandoning them, O Lord, due to the command of Brahmā.

It teaches that worldly prosperity gained even through tapas remains contingent and can be withdrawn by higher cosmic ordinance; lasting auspiciousness is steadied only by devotion and Shiva’s grace (Pati), not by external Lakṣmī alone.
By implying that deveśvara’s favor is the true source behind success, it points devotees toward Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga-upāsanā) as the stable refuge, rather than relying on fluctuating fortune.
Sustain tapas with bhakti: daily Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple Shiva-pūjā with humility, treating prosperity as secondary and service to Shiva as primary.
