When the entire mass of afflictions is decisively cut off—along with the latent impressions (vāsanās)—then, indeed, what is to be known by the contemplators of truth is this: the highest liberation is the cessation of ignorance.

Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It teaches that true liberation is attained when ignorance is removed at its root and the mind’s afflictions and latent tendencies (vāsanās) are fully dissolved—an inner freedom aligned with Shiva as the supreme Reality (Pati).
Linga worship and devotion to Saguna Shiva purify the heart, weaken kleśas, and burn vāsanās; through sustained worship, the devotee becomes fit for tattva-vicāra (truth-contemplation) culminating in the removal of ignorance.
Daily Shiva-upāsanā with japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and meditative inquiry into tattva is implied as the means to cut off kleśas and vāsanās; Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and Rudrākṣa support steadiness and purity in that practice.
