शिवलोकप्रवेशः
Entry into Śivaloka through successive gateways
त्वमेव निर्गुणस्सत्योऽनंतोऽनंतपराक्रमः । सगुणश्च सन्निवेशः प्रकृतेः पुरुषात्परः
tvameva nirguṇassatyo'naṃto'naṃtaparākramaḥ | saguṇaśca sanniveśaḥ prakṛteḥ puruṣātparaḥ
You alone are the attributeless Reality—true, infinite, and of limitless might. Yet You also become manifest with attributes and form; You transcend both Prakṛti (Nature) and Puruṣa (the individual conscious principle), standing supreme beyond them.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Shaiva theology within the Yuddhakhaṇḍa context, presenting Shiva’s transcendence as Pati)
Tattva Level: pati

Mantra: त्वमेव निर्गुणस्सत्योऽनंतोऽनंतपराक्रमः । सगुणश्च सन्निवेशः प्रकृतेः पुरुषात्परः
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It proclaims Shiva as both Nirguṇa (beyond the three guṇas) and Saguṇa (graciously manifest for devotees). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, it points to Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who is not limited by the soul (paśu) or bondage (pāśa) and who alone can grant liberation.
Though Shiva is ultimately attributeless, He accepts Saguṇa manifestation so devotees can approach Him through form—especially the Śiva-liṅga, mantra, and pūjā. The verse validates that worship of manifest Shiva is a direct means to realize the transcendent Shiva.
Meditate on Shiva as Nirguṇa through silent contemplation while also practicing Saguṇa upāsanā: japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), worship of the liṅga with vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and devotion, recognizing Him as beyond Prakṛti and the limited self.
