रजसा सृष्टिसमये त्वं ब्रह्मा सृष्टिकृत्प्रभो । सत्त्वेन पालने विष्णुस्त्रिभुवावन कारकः
rajasā sṛṣṭisamaye tvaṃ brahmā sṛṣṭikṛtprabho | sattvena pālane viṣṇustribhuvāvana kārakaḥ
O Lord, at the time of creation, through rajas You become Brahmā, the maker of the world; and for its preservation, through sattva You become Viṣṇu, the protector of the three worlds.
A devotee/warrior in the Yuddhakhaṇḍa addressing Lord Shiva (as the Supreme who assumes the roles of Brahmā and Viṣṇu)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Mantra: रजसा सृष्टिसमये त्वं ब्रह्मा सृष्टिकृत्प्रभो । सत्त्वेन पालने विष्णुस्त्रिभुवावन कारकः
Type: stotra
Role: creative
Offering: dhupa
Cosmic Event: sṛṣṭi (creation cycle)
It teaches that Brahmā (creation) and Viṣṇu (preservation) are functional manifestations of the One Supreme Lord, with Shiva as Pati who operates through the guṇas for cosmic order while remaining transcendent.
The verse supports Saguna worship by affirming that the worshipped Shiva is the very source of the cosmic offices; the Liṅga signifies that one Reality from which these forms and functions arise.
Meditate on Shiva as the inner ruler beyond the guṇas while chanting the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and offer Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and Rudrākṣa as reminders of purity (sattva) and disciplined action (rajas) surrendered to Him.
