जलंधरयुद्धे मायाप्रयोगः — Jalandhara’s Māyā in the Battle with Śiva
ब्रह्मणो वचनं रक्षन्रक्षको जगतां प्रभुः । हृदानुग्रहमातन्वंस्तद्वधाय मनो दधत्
brahmaṇo vacanaṃ rakṣanrakṣako jagatāṃ prabhuḥ | hṛdānugrahamātanvaṃstadvadhāya mano dadhat
Honouring Brahmā’s command, the Lord—the Protector of the worlds—unfolded gracious favour from within His heart and set His mind upon the slaying of that foe.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga narrative; the verse highlights Śiva’s governance of cosmic order by honoring Brahmā’s word while dispensing inner grace (hṛdānugraha).
Significance: Models dharmic sovereignty: the Lord protects the worlds and grants anugraha; devotees emulate obedience to dharma and seek inner grace that removes pāśa.
Mantra: namaḥ śivāya
Type: panchakshara
Role: liberating
It highlights Śiva as Pati (the sovereign Lord) whose protection of cosmic order includes both obedience to divine governance (Brahmā’s word) and the inner act of anugraha—grace that empowers the removal of adharma.
The verse portrays Saguna Śiva as the active Protector who intervenes in history; Linga-worship trains the devotee to perceive that same Lord as the steady source of protection and grace behind all events.
Meditate on Śiva as “jagatāṁ rakṣakaḥ” while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), praying for anugraha to destroy inner enemies like anger and pride, as Śiva destroys outer adharma.
