श्रुत्वा तेपि गणास्सर्वे मदनं मां च सर्वतः । परिवार्य्य यथाकामं तस्थुस्तत्र निजाकृतिम्
śrutvā tepi gaṇāssarve madanaṃ māṃ ca sarvataḥ | parivāryya yathākāmaṃ tasthustatra nijākṛtim
Hearing this, all those gaṇas too—having surrounded Madana and me on every side—stood there as they pleased, each remaining in his own proper form.

The verse highlights Śiva’s protective, orderly spiritual sphere: the gaṇas encircle the force of desire (Madana) and remain steady in their own natures, symbolizing disciplined awareness that contains and regulates kāma rather than being ruled by it—an ethic aligned with Śaiva Siddhānta’s emphasis on purity (śuddhi) and self-mastery under the Lord’s grace.
In Saguna Śiva worship—especially through the Liṅga—devotees approach the Lord as the stabilizing center of consciousness. The gaṇas standing firm around Madana mirrors how Liṅga-upāsanā gathers the mind inward, placing desire under the governance of Śiva’s presence rather than letting it scatter the seeker outward.
A practical takeaway is containment of the senses through japa and steadiness: repeat the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with breath awareness, and adopt simple Śaiva disciplines (bhasma/tripuṇḍra and a sattvic routine) to keep kāma from overruling dharma and devotion.
