Then the great sage bestowed upon her the name “Arundhatī.” Surrounded there by his disciples, he experienced profound joy.

Tattva Level: pasha
Significance: The bestowal of a worldly name (‘Arundhatī’) illustrates tirodhāna in a narrative sense: divinity assumes a veiled social identity within saṃsāra, enabling dharma-play and future revelation; devotees learn to recognize the hidden Devī within ordinary forms.
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: Nāmakaraṇa-like moment (naming) within the āśrama community.
The verse highlights the sanctifying power of a realized sage’s blessing: a righteous name given in a sacred setting becomes an outward sign of inner dharma, supporting a life aligned to Shiva’s auspicious order.
Though the Linga is not mentioned directly, the scene reflects Saguna Shiva’s grace working through the guru–śiṣya lineage: auspicious acts, blessings, and dharmic conduct are understood as expressions of Shiva’s benevolent presence in the world.
The takeaway is to honor the guru’s blessing and cultivate auspiciousness through daily japa (especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and sattvic conduct; no specific bhasma or rudraksha rite is explicitly prescribed in this verse.
