It teaches that all four human aims—dharma, prosperity, rightful enjoyment, and liberation—ultimately arise from the One Supreme Lord (Shiva as Pati), so the seeker should take refuge in Him as the root of every spiritual and worldly good.
Though the Lord is one and supreme, devotees approach Him through worshipful forms; in Shaiva practice this culminates in devotion to Saguna Shiva—especially the Shiva Linga—as the accessible symbol of the same primordial cause of all worlds.
The direct instruction is bhajana—devotional worship and refuge; practically this aligns with daily Shiva-puja with mantra-japa (notably the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and steady contemplation of Shiva as the single source of all puruṣārthas.
