देवस्तुतिः—शिवस्य परब्रह्मत्वं, मायाशक्तिः, कर्मफलप्रदातृत्वं च
Devas’ Hymn: Śiva as Parabrahman, Māyā-Śakti, and Giver of Karmic Fruits
नानायुधधरायैव दैत्यदानवनाशिने । सद्याय सद्यरूपाय सद्योजाताय वै नमः
nānāyudhadharāyaiva daityadānavanāśine | sadyāya sadyarūpāya sadyojātāya vai namaḥ
Salutations to Sadyojāta—He who bears many weapons, the destroyer of the Daityas and Dānavas; salutations to the Ever-Imminent One, whose very form is immediate and ever-present.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the hymn/praise within the Satīkhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
Mantra: नानायुधधरायैव दैत्यदानवनाशिने । सद्याय सद्यरूपाय सद्योजाताय वै नमः
Type: rudram
Offering: pushpa
The verse venerates Śiva as Sadyojāta—ever-present and swiftly responsive—who destroys demonic forces outwardly and also the inner “daitya/dānava” tendencies (ego, violence, delusion), affirming Śiva as Pati (Lord) whose grace protects and purifies the paśu (individual soul).
It supports Saguna-upāsanā by invoking a named, approachable aspect of Śiva (Sadyojāta) with protective power; such name-recitation naturally accompanies Liṅga worship, where the formless reality is honored through a sacred form and specific epithets.
Japa of Śiva’s names—especially “Sadyojāta”—along with Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) before the Liṅga; optionally apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and offer water/bilva leaves while contemplating Śiva as the immediate, ever-near protector.
