Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Mantra: मीढुष्टमाय देवाय शिपिविष्टाय ते नमः । महीयसे नमस्तुभ्यं हंत्रे देवारिणां सदा
Type: stotra
This verse is a devotional surrender to Shiva as both gracious bestower of blessings and the righteous destroyer of adharma—affirming that protection and liberation come through taking refuge in the all-pervading Pati (Lord) who removes hostile forces within and without.
By praising Shiva as the immanent, all-pervading Lord, the verse supports Saguna worship—approaching the formless reality through a sacred form such as the Shiva Linga, where devotees offer reverence to the same omnipresent Shiva present in the icon and in all beings.
Use it as a short stotra in daily puja: apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma), hold rudrākṣa, and chant with devotion—optionally preceded or followed by the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” contemplating Shiva as the omnipresent protector who destroys inner enemies like anger and ignorance.
