दधीचिकृतमुल्लंघ्य शपथं मयि तत्र ये । तिष्ठंति ते प्रयत्नेन ज्वालनीयास्त्वया ध्रुवम्
dadhīcikṛtamullaṃghya śapathaṃ mayi tatra ye | tiṣṭhaṃti te prayatnena jvālanīyāstvayā dhruvam
Those who, there, transgress the vow made by Dadhīci and persist in hostility toward Me—by your deliberate effort they must surely be scorched (punished) without fail.
Lord Shiva (Rudra)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Rudra
It emphasizes that violating a sacred vow and maintaining enmity toward Shiva (Pati) strengthens bondage (pāśa) through adharma; divine correction follows to restore dharma and turn the soul away from wrongdoing.
In Saguna form, Shiva acts as the upholder of dharma: devotion and vow-keeping purify the worshipper, while contempt or hostility toward Shiva’s sanctity (including his worship and ordinances) leads to karmic repercussions.
Maintain vrata (vow-discipline) with sincerity—support it with daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and steady bhakti, avoiding oath-breaking and disrespect toward Shiva’s rites.
