कामशापानुग्रहः (Kāmaśāpānugraha) — “The Curse and Grace Concerning Kāma”
एषा च कन्यका चारुरूपा ब्रह्ममनोभवा । संध्या नाम्नेति विख्याता सर्वलोके भविष्यति
eṣā ca kanyakā cārurūpā brahmamanobhavā | saṃdhyā nāmneti vikhyātā sarvaloke bhaviṣyati
This maiden is of lovely form, born of Brahmā’s mind. She will become renowned throughout all the worlds by the name “Sandhyā.”

The verse introduces Sandhyā as a mind-born manifestation of Brahmā, pointing to how cosmic functions and sacred times (twilight) can be personified; for a Shaiva reader, it also emphasizes that the worlds operate through divine order, while liberation comes by turning awareness toward Pati (Śiva) beyond such created forms.
By naming Sandhyā—twilight—it implicitly highlights the sanctity of liminal times traditionally used for worship; in Shaiva practice, sandhyā-time is especially suited for Saguna Shiva devotion through Linga-pūjā, japa, and remembrance of Śiva as the inner light that remains constant through all transitions.
A practical takeaway is sandhyā-kāla sādhanā: at dawn/dusk, apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma), wear Rudrākṣa if initiated, and do Panchākṣarī japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with steady breath and attention.
