कामशापानुग्रहः (Kāmaśāpānugraha) — “The Curse and Grace Concerning Kāma”
सोमपा आज्यपा नाम्ना तथैवान्ये सुकालिनः । हविष्मंतस्तु तास्सर्वे कव्यवाहाः प्रकीर्तिताः
somapā ājyapā nāmnā tathaivānye sukālinaḥ | haviṣmaṃtastu tāssarve kavyavāhāḥ prakīrtitāḥ
They are called the Somapās and the Ājyapās; and there are others too, timely and auspicious in their appointed seasons. All of them, bearers of the sacrificial oblations (havis), are famed as Kavyavāhas—the conveyers of offerings to the Pitṛs, the ancestral ones.

The verse highlights the dharmic order by which offerings are properly transmitted—especially to the Pitṛs—showing that right ritual action (performed in proper time) supports harmony in the worlds, which Shaiva tradition treats as a preparatory purifier for devotion to Pati (Shiva).
In the Shiva Purana’s ritual worldview, honoring devas and Pitṛs through ordained offerings complements Saguna Shiva worship: the devotee maintains dharma and purity, then directs the fruit of such acts toward Shiva-bhakti and liberation under Shiva’s grace.
It implies performing pitṛ-kārya—such as tarpaṇa and śrāddha—with proper timing and sanctified havis; as a Shaiva takeaway, one may offer the act’s merit to Shiva while repeating the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) in a steady, sattvic mind.
