Divine Pavilion and Canopy; Summoning the Gods

O great sage, thus a long span of time passed for those two Lords—who, having assumed bodies by their own will, moved in accordance with the divine play (līlā) of the worlds.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: creative
Cosmic Event: loka-līlā (divine play across long time)
It highlights that Shiva’s embodied presence is voluntary and purposeful—time flows within His loka-lila, while the Lord remains sovereign, guiding souls toward grace and liberation.
By stating that the Lords “assume bodies by their own will,” it supports saguna worship—approaching Shiva through accessible forms (including the Linga) while recognizing His transcendent, nirguna supremacy beyond time.
Contemplate Shiva’s lila while repeating the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), training the mind to see worldly change as time-bound, and Shiva as the steady Pati who grants inner freedom.
