दिव्य-भवन-छत्र-निर्माणः तथा देवसमाह्वानम्

Divine Pavilion and Canopy; Summoning the Gods

हृदयं मम यो रुद्रस्स एवाहं न संशयः । पूज्यस्तव सदा सोपि ब्रह्मादीनामपि ध्रुवम्

hṛdayaṃ mama yo rudrassa evāhaṃ na saṃśayaḥ | pūjyastava sadā sopi brahmādīnāmapi dhruvam

He who is Rudra within my own heart—he is verily I; of this there is no doubt. He too is ever worthy of your worship, and surely so even for Brahmā and the other gods.

Lord Shiva (Rudra)

Tattva Level: pati

Shiva Form: Rudra

Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga episode; the verse teaches antaryāmitva (Śiva as indwelling Rudra) and universal worship-worthiness, a doctrinal ground for temple and liṅga worship everywhere.

Significance: Establishes that worship of Rudra/Śiva is universally valid—even for Brahmā and the devas—supporting the merit of Śiva-pūjā irrespective of place.

FAQs

The verse teaches that Rudra is the indwelling Lord of consciousness—present in the heart as the supreme Pati—therefore devotion to Him is the sure path, beyond doubt, and honored even by the highest deities.

It links outer worship to inner realization: the same Rudra worshipped in the Liṅga (saguṇa support for devotion) is also to be recognized as the Lord seated within the heart, making worship both ritual and contemplative.

Meditate on Rudra in the heart while performing Śiva-pūjā—japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady bhakti—seeing the worshipped Lord as the inner Rudra.
