दिव्य-भवन-छत्र-निर्माणः तथा देवसमाह्वानम्
Divine Pavilion and Canopy; Summoning the Gods
सुमुहूर्ते महादेवस्तत्र सिंहासने वरे । उपवेश्य हरिं प्रीत्या भूषयामास सर्वशः
sumuhūrte mahādevastatra siṃhāsane vare | upaveśya hariṃ prītyā bhūṣayāmāsa sarvaśaḥ
At an auspicious moment, Mahādeva, there upon the excellent throne, lovingly seated Hari and then adorned Him in every way.
Sūta Gosvāmī (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights Mahādeva’s supreme compassion and humility: even as Pati (the Lord), Śiva honors Hari, teaching that true greatness is expressed through reverence, harmony, and loving devotion—qualities that purify the pashu (bound soul) toward mokṣa.
In Saguna worship, devotees approach Śiva as the gracious Lord who bestows auspiciousness; here, Śiva’s honoring of Hari models the devotional ethos behind Liṅga-pūjā—adoration, hospitality, and sacred honoring (upacāra)—showing that worship is rooted in bhakti and dharmic conduct.
It suggests performing worship at a “sumuhūrta” (auspicious time) and offering respectful upacāras—āsana (seat), alaṅkāra (adornment), and heartfelt devotion; as a takeaway, begin pūjā with the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and cultivate the inner attitude of honoring the Divine in all forms.
