It was beautified by bright, fragrant waters—pure, brimming full, and shining with a clear radiance—and adorned with fresh, lofty green lawns and young grasses growing along the banks.

The verse sanctifies the setting by emphasizing purity (śubhra, svaccha) and auspicious beauty, indicating that a tīrtha-like environment supports sattva, steadies the mind, and becomes conducive to Shiva-bhakti and inner recollection of Pati (Lord Shiva).
By describing a clean, radiant, fragrant riverside landscape, the text models the external purity and auspicious arrangement traditionally maintained around a Shiva-linga or shrine—an outer harmony that mirrors the devotee’s inner clarity while worshipping Saguna Shiva with form, fragrance, and sacred space.
It implies preparing a pure worship-ground: bathing or performing ācamana with clean water, keeping the altar area spotless, and then doing japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) or silent dhyāna in a serene, tīrtha-like place.
