Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; the focus is vrata-vidhi: jāgaraṇa (night vigil) followed by prātaḥ-pūjā, presenting wakefulness as a discipline that counters tirodhāna-like dullness and invites anugraha.
Significance: General benefit: jāgaraṇa with dawn worship is portrayed as intensifying smaraṇa and purifying the mind, making the devotee fit for Śiva’s favor.
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: liberating
Offering: naivedya
It highlights Satī’s bhakti expressed through jāgaraṇa (wakeful vigil) and dawn pūjā, teaching that steadfast devotion and disciplined observance purify the mind and orient the soul toward Pati (Śiva), the liberating Lord.
The verse depicts Saguna upāsanā—worship of Śiva through a concrete ritual sequence (vigil, then morning offering). Such pūjā supports the devotee’s inner focus, which in Shaiva Siddhanta matures into grace (anugraha) and spiritual uplift.
Keeping a night vigil (jāgaraṇa) followed by early-morning Shiva pūjā with a simple naivedya offering; the takeaway is disciplined devotion—staying awake in remembrance and beginning the day with worship.
