दक्षस्य प्रजावृद्ध्युपायः — Dakṣa’s Means for Increasing Progeny

śaśāpeti śucā dakṣastvāṃ tadā sādhusaṃmatam | bubodha neśvarecchāṃ sa śivamāyāvimohitaḥ
Then Dakṣa, overcome with grief, cursed you—though you were approved by the righteous. Deluded by Śiva’s māyā, he did not comprehend the will of the Lord.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It highlights that even socially powerful figures like Daksha can fall into delusion when ego and sorrow dominate; liberation-oriented wisdom arises by aligning with Īśvara-icchā (the Lord’s will) rather than reactive judgment.
Daksha’s failure is not merely moral but theological—he cannot recognize Shiva’s sovereign will; Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga devotion) trains the devotee to surrender pride and accept the Lord’s governance beyond personal likes and status.
A practical takeaway is daily japa of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with an attitude of śaraṇāgati (surrender), using vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) and/or rudrākṣa as reminders to overcome māyā-born ego and grief.
