Menā perceived, in her own husband, the rise of happiness; and she herself bore the auspicious signs of pregnancy—an excellent and desired cause of joy for the gods, the very source of delight.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: creative
The verse highlights that Parvatī’s coming is not merely a family event but a divinely auspicious turning point: the “cause of joy for the gods,” indicating cosmic alignment toward the restoration of dharma and the destined union of Śiva and Śakti.
In the Pārvatīkhaṇḍa, Parvatī’s advent prepares the world for Śiva’s saguna līlā—His accessible, worship-worthy presence. Her birth ultimately supports the path of devotion and ritual worship (including Liṅga-upāsanā) by manifesting Śakti as the enabling power behind spiritual practice.
While no specific rite is prescribed in this line, it supports an auspicious-beginnings ethos: devotees may mark such narratives with Shaiva bhakti—recitation of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” simple Liṅga-pūjā, and prayer for śubha (auspiciousness) and inner joy aligned with Śiva’s will.
