पार्वतीजन्मवर्णनम् / Description of Pārvatī’s Birth
ततस्तस्यां तु जातायां प्रसन्नोऽभूत्तदा भवः । अनुकूलो ववौ वायुर्गम्भीरो गंधयुक्शुभः
tatastasyāṃ tu jātāyāṃ prasanno'bhūttadā bhavaḥ | anukūlo vavau vāyurgambhīro gaṃdhayukśubhaḥ
Then, when she was born, Bhava (Lord Śiva) became pleased. A favorable wind began to blow—deep and steady, fragrant, and auspicious—signaling divine approval.

Cosmic Event: Auspicious vāyu (anukūla, gandhayuk, śubha) is a classical ‘daivika-lakṣaṇa’ indicating divine consent; in Siddhānta terms, it signals anugraha beginning to dominate over tirodhāna.
It portrays Śiva’s prasāda (grace) manifesting as auspicious order in nature—fragrant, steady winds—indicating that when the Lord is pleased, the world becomes harmonized and the soul’s path toward dharma and liberation is supported.
Bhava’s pleasure reflects Saguna Śiva’s responsive compassion: devotion and divine purpose produce visible auspiciousness. In Liṅga worship, such ‘śubha-lakṣaṇa’ (good signs) are understood as tokens of the Lord’s acceptance of devotion and purity.
Cultivate Śiva’s prasannatā through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and inner purity; in ritual, maintain a sattvic atmosphere with clean space, fragrance, and calm breath—mirroring the verse’s auspicious, fragrant wind.
