Thus, O sage, even on the third day they were duly honoured by Girīśvara (Lord Śiva), with proper observances—through gifts, respectful reception, reverent regard, and the like.

The verse highlights Śiva’s grace expressed through vidhivat honor—showing that devotion is met not merely with boons, but with divine respect and protective care, reinforcing the Shaiva Siddhanta ideal of the Lord as Pati who uplifts the devotee (paśu) through compassionate recognition.
Girīśvara is addressed as the personal (saguṇa) Lord who engages in relational dharma—receiving, honoring, and blessing. Linga-worship similarly emphasizes approaching Śiva with proper observance (vidhi), reverence (ādara), and offerings, acknowledging Him as the accessible form of the Supreme.
The takeaway is vidhivat upacāra: worship with respectful reception and offerings—e.g., simple dāna (charity), honoring guests/devotees, and performing Śiva-pūjā with mantra such as the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) in a spirit of ādara.
