अध्याय ४९ — विवाहानुष्ठाने ब्रह्मणः काममोहः
Brahmā’s Enchantment by Desire during the Wedding Rites

And at that time, O divine sage, upon seeing her I became completely overwhelmed—seized by Kāma (the power of desire), with my mind intensely agitated.

It highlights how mere perception can trigger kāma and mental turbulence, implying that spiritual progress in Shaiva thought requires mastery of the mind and senses so the soul (paśu) is not bound by pasha (desire).
By showing the destabilizing force of desire, the verse indirectly points to Saguna Shiva/Linga-upāsanā as a stabilizing refuge—devotion and remembrance of Shiva steady the mind and redirect impulses toward dharma and liberation.
Mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with sense-restraint and mental watchfulness is the key takeaway; traditional Shaiva disciplines like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa support this vow of inner control.
