You are the very Self of all beings and states of existence; you are the sovereign Lord, the ultimate cause. You are changeless, imperishable, eternal, free from all conceptual distinctions, the undecaying Reality—supreme beyond all.
Parvati

Role: teaching
It declares Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who is both the inner Self of all and the ultimate cause—unchanging, eternal, and beyond mental constructions; realizing this leads the bound soul (paśu) toward liberation from bondage (pāśa).
Though Shiva is described as nirvikalpa and transcendent, the Linga functions as a sacred, accessible focus through which devotees worship the same supreme reality—Saguna worship guiding the mind toward the Nirguna truth affirmed here.
Meditate on Shiva as the changeless Self while japa of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) is performed; Linga-abhiṣeka with devotion can be paired with inner contemplation of Shiva as nirvikāra and akṣara.
