Gotra–Pravara Inquiry and Proclamation of Auspicious Time
तस्मात्त्वया शिवा तात सुविचार्य प्रयत्नतः । न कर्तव्यो विमर्शोऽत्र त्वेवंविधवरे मनाक्
tasmāttvayā śivā tāta suvicārya prayatnataḥ | na kartavyo vimarśo'tra tvevaṃvidhavare manāk
Therefore, dear child, reflect carefully and with full effort upon Śivā (Pārvatī). In this matter, entertain not even the slightest doubt or second-guessing, for you are truly worthy and fit for such a union.
Himālaya (Himavān), advising regarding Pārvatī’s marriage to Śiva
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It teaches niścaya (firm conviction) in dharma and devotion: when the path aligned with Śiva is discerned, one should not waver in doubt, because steadfastness supports spiritual fruition and grace.
The verse emphasizes unwavering commitment to Śiva as the worthy refuge; in Linga/Saguṇa worship this translates to steady upāsanā—avoiding vacillation and keeping one-pointed reverence toward Śiva’s chosen form and discipline.
A clear saṅkalpa followed by consistent daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and regular Śiva-pūjā (with bhasma/rudrākṣa if one follows that vrata), cultivating resolve rather than hesitation.
