It was adorned with an incomparable purity like fire, exceedingly subtle and beautiful—shining resplendently with a wondrous pair of priceless garments.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
The verse uses the imagery of fire-like purity and priceless garments to point to divine auspiciousness (śuddhi and śrī): the Saguna form’s beauty signifies inner purity and the soul’s elevation toward Shiva through devotion and sanctification.
By describing radiant, pure adornment, it supports Saguna-upāsanā—seeing Shiva’s sacred presence through auspicious qualities. Such descriptions train the mind to reverence, steadiness, and loving contemplation, which also deepens Linga worship.
Adopt śauca (purity) before worship—bathe, apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) with reverence, and mentally visualize Shiva’s auspicious brilliance while chanting the Pañcākṣarī mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
