हिमालयगृहे नारदस्य आगमनम् तथा विश्वकर्मनिर्मितवैभववर्णनम् — Nārada’s Arrival at Himālaya’s Palace and the Description of Viśvakarman’s Marvels
तदावोचश्च स मुने नारद त्वं नगेश्वरम् । विस्मितोऽतीव मनसि नष्टज्ञानो विमूढधीः
tadāvocaśca sa mune nārada tvaṃ nageśvaram | vismito'tīva manasi naṣṭajñāno vimūḍhadhīḥ
Then, O sage, Nārada—his mind utterly astonished—spoke to the Lord of the Mountain; his understanding had slipped away, and his intellect was bewildered.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Models the devotee’s transition from stunned perception to inquiry (jijñāsā), a key step toward anugraha in Śaiva Siddhānta (grace follows ripening of the soul).
It highlights how even a great sage can be overwhelmed by divine mystery; when ordinary cognition fails, humility and receptivity to grace become the doorway to higher Shaiva understanding.
The verse portrays the devotee’s awe before a manifest (saguṇa) divine situation—an attitude central to Linga-worship, where reverence and surrender precede deeper realization of Shiva’s transcendent nature.
Cultivate reverent stillness and japa—especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—so that bewilderment turns into devotion and clarity through Shiva’s grace.
