गणसमागमः (Śiva Summons the Gaṇas for the Great Festival)
रुद्रस्य भगिनी भूत्वा चण्डी सूत्सवसंयुता । तत्राजगाम सुप्रीत्या परेषां सुंभयावहा
rudrasya bhaginī bhūtvā caṇḍī sūtsavasaṃyutā | tatrājagāma suprītyā pareṣāṃ suṃbhayāvahā
Having become the sister of Rudra, Caṇḍī—attended by auspicious festivities—arrived there in great delight, casting dread upon the hostile hosts.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Caṇḍikā
Role: destructive
The verse highlights Śiva-Śakti harmony: Caṇḍī manifests in a protective, fierce mode while remaining aligned with Rudra’s divine order. In Shaiva understanding, the Lord’s grace operates through Śakti to dispel both outer threats and inner enemies like fear, anger, and delusion.
As Saguna Śiva, Rudra’s presence is inseparable from Śakti. Linga-worship honors Śiva as Pati (the Lord), while acknowledging His dynamic power as Śakti—here shown as Caṇḍī—who safeguards dharma and the devotee’s path toward liberation.
A practical takeaway is to combine devotion to Śiva with remembrance of His protective Śakti: japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with a prayer for fearlessness, optionally supported by wearing Rudrākṣa and applying Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as Shaiva marks of refuge in Śiva.
