हिमालयस्य निर्णयः — शिवाय पार्वत्याः प्रदाने
Himālaya’s Resolution to Give Pārvatī to Śiva
शैला ऊचुः । अधुना किं विमर्शेन कृतं कार्य्यं तथैव हि । उत्पन्नेयं महाभाग देवकार्यार्थमेव हि
śailā ūcuḥ | adhunā kiṃ vimarśena kṛtaṃ kāryyaṃ tathaiva hi | utpanneyaṃ mahābhāga devakāryārthameva hi
The Mountain-lords said: “What use is deliberation now? The deed has already been done. O greatly fortunate one, this daughter has indeed been born solely for the work of the gods.”
Śailāḥ (the Mountain-lords, i.e., Himālaya and the mountain elders)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It affirms that events surrounding Pārvatī’s birth are not ordinary social happenings but part of Śiva’s cosmic order—where divine grace and destiny (īśvara-saṅkalpa) move creation toward dharma and liberation.
By stating a ‘divine purpose’ behind her manifestation, the verse supports the Shaiva view that Saguna forms and divine descents occur to restore dharma and enable devotees to approach the transcendent (Nirguna) Śiva through accessible worship such as Linga-bhakti.
The practical takeaway is surrender to Śiva’s will (śaraṇāgati) expressed through steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and consistent devotional discipline, rather than anxious over-deliberation.
