हिमालयस्य निर्णयः — शिवाय पार्वत्याः प्रदाने
Himālaya’s Resolution to Give Pārvatī to Śiva
ततश्च ते चतुर्थेह्नि संधार्य्य लग्नमुत्तमम् । परस्परं च सन्तुष्य संजग्मुश्शिवसन्निधिम्
tataśca te caturthehni saṃdhāryya lagnamuttamam | parasparaṃ ca santuṣya saṃjagmuśśivasannidhim
Then, on the fourth day, having fixed upon the most auspicious moment, and being mutually pleased and in harmony, they went into the presence of Lord Śiva.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
The verse highlights that spiritual success in approaching Śiva arises from right resolve (saṅkalpa), inner harmony, and alignment with auspiciousness—symbolizing a mind purified and ready for Śiva’s grace (anugraha) in the Shaiva Siddhanta view.
“Śiva-sannidhi” implies approaching the Lord in a tangible, worshipful way—consistent with Saguna devotion as expressed through temple presence, Liṅga-darśana, and reverent attendance at the proper time for rites.
It suggests preparing for worship by selecting an auspicious time (lagna/muhūrta), maintaining mutual concord and purity, and then approaching Śiva for darśana—supported by practices like japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and respectful observance before pūjā.
