पार्वतीवाक्यं—शिवस्य परब्रह्मत्व-निरूपणम्
Pārvatī’s Discourse: Establishing Śiva as Parabrahman
सर्वः श्रमो विनष्टोभूत्स त्यास्तु मुनिसत्तम । फले जाते श्रमः पूर्वो जन्तोर्नाशमवाप्नुयात्
sarvaḥ śramo vinaṣṭobhūtsa tyāstu munisattama | phale jāte śramaḥ pūrvo jantornāśamavāpnuyāt
O best of sages, it is indeed so: when the fruit is attained, all prior toil is as though erased. For a being, once the result has arisen, the earlier hardship passes away and is no longer felt.

It teaches that when the spiritual “fruit” (Shiva’s anugraha—grace culminating in clarity, devotion, or liberation) manifests, the hardships of sadhana no longer weigh on the soul; the joy of attainment eclipses the prior struggle.
Linga/Saguna Shiva worship often requires steady discipline—japa, abhisheka, vrata. This verse frames that effort as meaningful: once Shiva’s blessing bears fruit (inner transformation and steadfast bhakti), the earlier austerity feels light and ‘erased’ by fulfillment.
A practical takeaway is perseverance in daily Panchakshara japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and regular Linga-puja/abhisheka; continue even when effort feels heavy, because the arising of the fruit makes the earlier strain fade.
