काली-परिचयः / Himagiri Presents Kālī (Pārvatī) to Śiva
महेश्वर उवाच । आगंतव्यं त्वया नित्यं दर्शनार्थं ममाचल । कुमारीं सदने स्थाप्य नान्यथा मम दर्शनम्
maheśvara uvāca | āgaṃtavyaṃ tvayā nityaṃ darśanārthaṃ mamācala | kumārīṃ sadane sthāpya nānyathā mama darśanam
Maheśvara said: “O Mountain (Himālaya), you must come regularly to behold Me. Establish the maiden (Pārvatī) in your home; otherwise, you shall not obtain My darśana.”
Lord Shiva (Maheshvara)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga; the verse expresses a conditionality of darśana—Śiva’s audience is granted according to His ordinance, reflecting both grace and concealment (tirodhāna) when conditions are unmet.
Significance: Teaches niyama in worship: darśana is not merely physical proximity but alignment with Śiva’s command; emphasizes household placement of the kumārī as part of dharmic order.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
The verse highlights that Shiva’s darśana is not merely a casual meeting but a grace attained through steady devotion and right alignment with Shiva’s will—here symbolized by honoring and establishing Pārvatī, the Śakti through whom Shiva’s auspicious presence becomes accessible.
In Saguna worship, Shiva is approached through concrete forms, relationships, and prescribed reverence. This verse reflects that principle: Shiva grants audience under a specific devotional condition, echoing how Linga-worship follows maryādā (ritual order) and devotion, not mere desire.
It implies niyama (regularity) in seeking Shiva’s darśana—daily Shiva-pūjā at home (with mantra-japa such as the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), performed with reverence to Śakti (Pārvatī) as integral to auspicious Shaiva worship.
