कनारदकुमाराणां व्यासस्य कपिलस्य च । एतेषां च समाजे तैर्निश्चित्य समुदाहृतम्
kanāradakumārāṇāṃ vyāsasya kapilasya ca | eteṣāṃ ca samāje tairniścitya samudāhṛtam
In the assembly of these—Nārada and the Kumāras, as well as Vyāsa and Kapila—after due deliberation, it was decisively determined and then proclaimed.

Role: teaching
It emphasizes that Shaiva truth is not presented as mere opinion: it is confirmed through sādhana-informed deliberation by revered seers, strengthening faith (śraddhā) in the Purāṇic teaching about Śiva as the supreme Pati.
By showing that authoritative sages collectively ‘ascertained and proclaimed’ the doctrine, the text frames upcoming teachings—often including Jyotirliṅga glory and Saguna Śiva worship—as validated, reliable paths for devotees.
The verse implies the discipline of śravaṇa and manana—listening to scripture and reflecting carefully—supporting steady practice of Śiva-upāsanā such as japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with devotion.
