Śiva-nāma-smaraṇa and Śambhu’s Protective Manifestation
Dāruka Episode
सर्वस्वं च भवानद्य मम देव त्वमेव हि । त्वदधीनस्त्वदीयोऽहं त्वत्प्राणस्सर्वदा प्रभो
sarvasvaṃ ca bhavānadya mama deva tvameva hi | tvadadhīnastvadīyo'haṃ tvatprāṇassarvadā prabho
O Lord, truly You alone are my all-in-all. I am wholly dependent on You; I belong to You. O Master, at all times my very life-breath rests in You.
A devoted pilgrim/devotee addressing Lord Shiva (as narrated by Suta Goswami in the Kotirudrasaṃhitā context)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Mantra: सर्वस्वं च भवानद्य मम देव त्वमेव हि । त्वदधीनस्त्वदीयोऽहं त्वत्प्राणस्सर्वदा प्रभो
Type: stotra
It expresses śaraṇāgati (total surrender): the soul (paśu) recognizes Shiva as the sole refuge and “all,” affirming dependence on Pati for grace, protection, and liberation.
The verse is a direct personal address to the Lord, fitting Saguna devotion: in Linga-worship the devotee offers selfhood itself—seeing the Linga as the living presence of Shiva, the support of one’s very prāṇa.
Practice inner surrender while chanting the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and offering water/bilva to the Linga, mentally repeating: “I am Yours; my life-breath is in You,” as a bhakti-based meditation.
