Anasūyā–Atri Tapas-Varṇana
Description of Anasūyā and Atri’s Austerities
नान्यत्परं किंचिज्जानीते स्म च सा सती । तस्यैव तपसा सर्वे तस्याश्च भजनेन च
nānyatparaṃ kiṃcijjānīte sma ca sā satī | tasyaiva tapasā sarve tasyāśca bhajanena ca
That virtuous Satī knew nothing whatsoever as higher than Him alone. Indeed, everything was sustained and accomplished by His austerity (tapas), and likewise through her devoted worship of Him.

It highlights ekānta-bhakti—Satī recognizes Shiva as the sole Supreme (Pati), and shows that both Shiva’s tapas (divine power) and the devotee’s bhajana (loving worship) become means for spiritual fulfillment and liberation.
By affirming that nothing is higher than Shiva, it supports focused Saguna worship (such as Linga-pūjā) where the mind does not scatter to other ‘higher’ supports, but rests in Shiva as the supreme refuge and goal.
Single-pointed bhajana of Shiva: daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a disciplined life of tapas—simple vows, purity, and steady meditation on Shiva as the highest reality.
