रावणस्य तपः-शिवानुग्रहः — Rāvaṇa’s Austerity and Śiva’s Bestowal of Grace
एवंकृते तदा तत्र शरीरं पूर्ववन्मम । जातं तस्य प्रसादाच्च सर्वं प्राप्तं फलं मया
evaṃkṛte tadā tatra śarīraṃ pūrvavanmama | jātaṃ tasya prasādācca sarvaṃ prāptaṃ phalaṃ mayā
When this had been done, right there and then my body became as it was before. By his grace, I attained every promised fruit in full.
Suta Goswami (narrating the devotee’s experience to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse highlights prasāda—Śiva’s grace—as the decisive power that removes affliction and restores wholeness, showing that the highest results are fulfilled through devotion aligned with Śiva’s will.
Kotirudra narratives commonly frame blessings as arising from direct devotion to Saguna Śiva—often through Jyotirliṅga worship—where the devotee’s transformation and ‘attainment of fruits’ are signs of Śiva’s compassionate response.
The takeaway is to perform Śiva-upāsanā with faith—such as Jyotirliṅga darśana, japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and offering with purity—seeking not merely boons but Śiva’s prasāda as the true source of results.
