O Goddess, the wise know that whatever action is performed now, by the very fact of one’s birth, is karma in the making (kriyamāṇa), whether auspicious or inauspicious.

It teaches that embodied life inevitably involves karma—every present action carries a moral quality (śubha or aśubha). In Shaiva understanding, recognizing this is the first step toward purification and liberation through right conduct and devotion to Shiva.
Since actions continually generate karma, Linga-worship of Saguna Shiva is presented in the Shiva Purana as a practical means to sanctify one’s deeds—turning life into offerings (ārpaṇa) and reducing binding tendencies through devotion and discipline.
A key takeaway is to perform daily actions as Shiva-arpaṇa while maintaining japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya); complement this with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as reminders to avoid aśubha karma and cultivate śubha karma.
