Kāmarūpeśvara’s Trial and Śiva’s Hidden Protection (कামरूपेश्वर-रक्षा-प्रसङ्गः)

Whatever is destined to occur indeed comes to pass—there is no one who can turn it back. Here, all is governed by prārabdha (the karma already set in motion); and that very prārabdha is remembered as Śiva.

It teaches that the embodied experience unfolds under prārabdha (already-fructifying karma), yet the Purana frames this governance as Śiva’s own order—inviting surrender to Śiva while seeking liberation beyond karmic compulsion.
By identifying the operative law of destiny with Śiva, the verse supports Saguna devotion: worship of the Liṅga is a way to align oneself with Śiva’s auspicious governance and to receive His grace that leads the soul beyond bondage.
A practical takeaway is steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—with a surrendering attitude, accepting prārabdha while praying for Śiva’s grace to purify karma and move toward moksha.
